Here is a 9 minute video that goes into detail installing a mod chip into an Xbox. It goes through opening the console, installing a new dash/apps/emulators and I hope that it is helpful if your attempting to mod your console. Modding an xbox is a must. As you can then play games off the hard drive, listen and watch pretty much any time of media, check the weather and play old school console games. A modded Xbox running Xbox Media Center is all you need to enjoy your favourite media on your tv rather than computer (and a lot cheaper than Apple TV) Only downside — The xbox struggles to play HD content due to the processor in the console only being a Pentium 3 733mhz. UPDATE: Don’t be a dick and post a comment saying “it doesn’t work.” Look at the first comments, it worked for them. If you don’t think it works, I dont care but dont be a dick and say it doesnt You can fix your Xbox 360 just by using towels and time. First, get two thick bath towels and a watch or clock to keep track of time. Go to your broken Xbox 360 (only if it has the Three Red Lights, I don’t know if it works for other thinks) and put one of the towels underneath it. Make sure your Xbox 360 is in the middle of the towel. Fold the left and right side of the towels over the short sides of the Xbox 360, then tuck the towel under the back. Don’t do anything to the front side (where the button to turn it on is) yet. Take the other towel and put it on the Xbox 360. Center it on your console. Tuck it in on the sides and in the back, but not in the front yet. After you wrap it in both towels, reach through the opening in the front of the towels and turn your Xbox 360 on. Roll up the towels in the front and leave your console on for 10-15 minutes. After waiting 10-15 minutes, unroll the front of the towels. Turn off your console, then remove both towels. Let your Xbox 360 cool for about twice as long as you left it on. After you cool it, turn it on again to see if it works. The Three Red Lights will probably be gone, and your Xbox 360 should be normal.

Here is the opening of the Xbox 360 Elite box. The Xbox 360 Elite was released on April 29, 2007 at a starting price of 479.99 which has now dropped to 449.99. It is the third Xbox 360 variation and is considered to be the high end version of the Xbox 360. UPDATE —————— THE PRICE OF THE XBOX 360 ELITE HAS DROPPED TO 299.99 USD. ——————– Stuff that is in the box. ————————- 1. Xbox 360 Elite Console (Black) 2. Xbox 360 Wireless Controller (Black) 3. Xbox 360 Wired Headset (Black) 4. Xbox 360 120 GB hard drive (Black) 5. Xbox 360 Component/Composite Cables 6. HDMI cable (6 feet) 7. Xbox 360 Optical RCA Adapter (For connecting the audio to a stereo system if you are using HDMI) 8. Xbox 360 Power Brick and power cable 9. 2 AA Batteries (Usually Energizer) 10. Ethernet cable 11. Manuals and 1 year Warranty So basically there is a lot in the box. The only differences between the Elite and the original Xbox 360 consoles is that it is black, few of the accessories are black, it has a 120 GB drive instead of 20, and it is bundled with a HDMI cable which usually costs a lot if you were to buy it separately. ** Note, with the HDMI, the Xbox 360 only supports HDMI 1.2a which excludes the features of HD audio and higher video bandwidth which is found on HDMI 1.3. Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound is on HDMI 1.2 which is not that bad. There are not many black accessories for the Xbox 360 Elite. I believe there is only a black controller, battery
